"I said I wasn’t gonna lose my head
But then pop! Goes my heart(Pop! Goes my heart)
I wasn’t gonna fall in love again
But then pop! Goes my heart(Pop! Goes my heart)
And I just can’t let you goI can’t lose this feeling"
"Music and Lyrics" is kind of movie that makes you laugh and brings you back to the happy days of childhood when you were young and stupid and in love with George Michael:) Especially the first 3 minutes of the movie. The creators achieved it mostly due to Hugh Grant's extraordinary performance full of passion, vigor and his ass. Actually Hugh performs few times throughout the movie- it's such a pleasure to be able to experience it, he deffinatelly should get at least 3 grammy awards for the hit song "PoP!Goes My Heart!". It really makes you wanna dance...and sing(actually me and my friends were singing in the cinema all the time troughout the movie, and afterwards in the ladies room, we had quite a performance I must say:)). Coming back to main topic, the first 3 minutes of the movie will be a great surprise not only for the fans of Wham, Limahl, Duran Duran but also to those of Disco Polo because that is obvious that the makers of that movie were fascinated with Disco Polo culture and drawn inspiration from it.
What is more, in the middle of the film Hugh sings a song called "meaningless kiss" which sounds like a mixture of Wham's "Last X-mas" and "Careless Whisper". But what is the best about the movie is Hugh's bootylicious shake-shake dance:)
There's obviously sth for boys as well: half-naked, britney-like and buddha-adicted singer,Cora. And for sensitive boys:Drew Barrymore.
The movie is perfect for you if you want to chill, laugh, listen to cheap songs, Hugh's incredible voice and to watch his butt.
I've got soundtrack if somebody would be interested.
"We can't go on like this forever
When we're not meant to be together
So leave me here on my own
From now on I guess I got to dance alone"

I Like London in the Rain...;)
Despite the rain, London truly is one of the most extraordinary cities I've been to. Not only due to amazing history, monuments, architecture or the mixture of people of so many different nationalities but mostly due to great shops;)
Just kidding. Or actually not. The bookstores there are full of so many interesting books, impossible to find in Poland. I could have spent a week not leaving Waterstone's:)
And where I have found consolation after not going to madame tussaud and not seeing Brad Pitt's ass(which was actually a crucial point in my excursion)? In low prices at Primark:)
I obviously have to kick one guy's butt for not taking me to the right stadium of Arsenal London and for taking me to the Natural History Museum when it was already closed.
But I manganimously forgive you because you spent like 4-5 hours driving me to London , than driving back home and coming back for me after next 3hours and then going back home again.
So...thanx...
maybe next year I will be writing from this extremely useful computer room we've seen in St.Anne's College in Oxford. That would be something. Graduating from Oxford...

"PhD Anna Frackowiak's lecture on the portraits of females in gay literature(from Henry James to Truman Capote) today in her alma mater St.Anne's College,Oxford at 3pm"...sounds great;)

Poznan Je t'aime
Lately I have received a post with a link to a newspaper article about the prettiest Polish cities and the author (of the post not the article) dared to claim that Szczecin, city he comes from, is the most beutiful. I, as native Poznanianka:), allow myself not to agree with him and decided to prove(although I think its obvious for everyone else) that Poznan is the most beautiful, most entertaining, developing and adventurous city not only in Poland but also in Europe.
Maybe we're not the biggest city but Poznan certainly has its charm. Not only due to developing infrastructure and commercial centers but rather due to little hidden coffee shops, chocolateries and other numerous magical places.
And the best way to prove it is to show it. And to do so I give you photos done by me this summer. ENJOY:)

Polish GRAND THEFT AUTO in Paris:)
It's high time for new post as this is the last week of my winter break:) It will not be a regular post , rather a compilation of photos done by me in Paris, presenting my friend and a car she really liked. I like these photos not only because they are a proof that I would be a great spy (anyone wants to hire me?), but also due to their realness and authenticity:) as if they were taken from some crime record or files:) so there it is: Kasia doesn't need 11 people (like this loser Ocean:)), I present you KASIA'S 1

My bday day:)
Today is my birthday so I should write sth. Not much,as my friends are coming in 10 min and I still have to take a shower and dress myself up:)
I probably should somehow sum up the last year but so many bad things have happened that the only thing I can say is that it was probably the worst year of my life
:( but hey! there is good news - the next year cannot be worse (at least I hope so). And despite this year being so traumatic the last summer holidays were the best of my life so far , so there is someting very paradoxical about it.
I don't like planning so my only plans for next year is to be happy, no matter what happens. And I wish to visit some new places, and come back to those I already know to find out sth. surprisingly new about them:)

Here are some nice moments from previous year (photos mostly from Paris and Bcn), new and old friendships:)
ciao!

bday party part 1-2 25-27.01.2007
My Bday party :) this one has actually been the first of the three parties. It was great. I've seen my friends, some after quite a long break and we all had a great time once again. There have been mostly my friends from WSJO, but also my best friend Atka(part of the best friends duo- Kasia was absent due to the exam scramming) with her boyfriend, friend from the neighborhood and high school friends:) And there was also one friend, Marcin coming here specially on this ocassion from Legnica(pretending that he had forgotten about my bday). There has obviously been a lot of alcohol though it ain't end up like the last time when people were sleeping on the floor. I know that photos looks as if there were just me and few more friends, but I have reminded myself too late of the fact of having camara with me:( it was probably martini's influence. I think last time I had such a great time when I was on our way to the party in Barcelona with Kinga, her sister Paula and Asia, when I understood that I am finally free and able to forget about all the bad things that took place last year.
Then, on Saturday, with Kinga and Dorota I went to SQ club, where we have drunk a lot of drinks (something completely unusual for me as I usually order water)and spent time chatting and dancing.
And tomorrow I will have first a family party, and then ladies night out with best friends:) oh, and I have to bake my cinnamon cake:)

There's always the first time...
So... (teachers always say not to begin a sentence with "so"), beginnings are always the most difficult but have their special charm:)
I will write most of my posts in English(sometimes Polish and Spanish, of course if there will be more posts:))
in order to practice my language skills:)
I should say few words about me. Well I guess I' m a mixture of optimism & scepticism, shyness and sometimes arrogance:) I'm pretty funny, though not as much as a Polish legendary football commentor/commentator Jacus Gmoch (though he's unconscious of his incredible charm and lg. skills). I love sports (my father is P.E. teacher so I've got good genes): skiing, basketball, dance, swimming, tennis(I was to be another steffi graff but it did not work out).
And I love movies:"The Breakfast At Tiffany's ", "Gone With the Wind", "Casablanca", "Star Wars" and James Bond series. I also adore British comedies like "Love Actually", "Notting Hill", "Bridget Jones Diary" and obviously BBC series "Pride and Prejudice" with georgous Colin Firth.
I'm also in love with classic literature, especially British and American(my major at the University). My favourites: all Jane Austen novels, "Portrait of a Lady"(basis of my BA thesis) by Henry James, Edgar Allan Poe short stories, poems of Sylvia Plath(actually the only poems I like), modernist novels of Virginia Woolf, "jane eyre" by Charlotte Bronte, "Wuthering Heights " by Emily Bronte, W. Shakespeare's plays(I know it's kind of cliche) etc. But also Baudelaire's "Miss Fanfarloo" or Pushkin's "Oniegin". There are so many novels I would love to read. I already have plenty of them close to my bed but so far I have no time to read them:(
And I am a huge fan of Gilmore Girls series. And my next post will be my semestral paper for "Studying Culture" classes, proving Gilmore Girls to be an example of good common culture:) It may be boring but I don't want to end up with just one post:) see ya. and enjoy your time spent on my site
